2027 Calendar: Balance

Sharing my nature photos is a way for me to spread love and appreciation for this life. Each year I choose 12 of my favorite photos for a wall calendar. From these photos a theme emerges. This year it is “Balance.”

For those inquiring minds who enjoy a little backstory:

In January’s photo, this morning had the potential for a freshly blanketed landscape at sunrise. The dramatic backdrop of color was a delightful bonus.
In case you are wondering, February’s photo is not of the usual island that I photograph. I was on the lake with my snowshoes for this one.
I couldn’t help but be curious of what this loon, who had just arrived from a winter on the ocean, must have been thinking. I’m sure he wasn’t expecting snow in April. Neither was I.
Our eagles abandoned their nest after 9 glorious years. In my search for their new location I happened upon this heron’s nest. Of all my years on the lake, I have never come across a heron’s nest- just herons, and most often solitary. Herons usually nest in colonies, so this was a wonderful surprise. I will write more about my trips to the heron’s nest in my next issue of “Lake Life Chronicles: Eagles, Herons & Loons.” The moon peeking through the pine branches added a balancing touch to August's photo.
The double rainbow popping up on a crisp autumn morning in November’s photo accompanied by foliage double rainbow was a pleasant surprise as well. Glad I noticed the brief visit. It reminded me of my loved ones on the other side.
Did you catch the pink heart cloud in December's photo? How might that speak of balance to you?

These are just some of the images that captured the essence of balance in my calendar photos for 2027. I was drawn to some softer colors this year. We can’t always make the elements come together the way we want, but we can delight in showing up for how they do.

Wishing you a 2027 filled with balancing moments!

Trish
