The Artist I Am

Each morning my canvas is blank.
I am free to carry over yesterday’s hues.
And to sketch in my dreams for the future.
But it is the artist I am today who paints the picture.
As Neil Gaiman said in his commencement speech to the University of the Arts Class of 2012, "Make good art."
