Serenity Above, Serenity Below

Serenity Above, Serenity Below

Have you ever taken on a new task, project or responsibility that has thrown you out of balance?

Having a baby? Someone at work gets laid off and you are left with their duties in addition to your own? Caring for an ill family member?

I've been working on a book for the past few years and it's almost done.  Even joyful tasks call for us to create a new balance in our living and loving. There has been a lot of trial and error, some hurt feelings and even some sleepless nights along my way toward a new balance. It has been necessary to trade quantity for quality with friends and family. I am grateful to those who have stuck it out as I have fumbled through my process and not always so gracefully.

When we add something new to our plate it provides us with an opportunity to revisit the items that were already on there. They may have been ready for fine-tuning, tweaking or even changing completely, anyway. It may be time to hire others to pick up tasks we no longer have time for but still value and still need to get done like mowing the lawn, cleaning the house or hiring a temp at the office every now and then to help the employees with their extra duties so they can stay caught up and happy. Or asking a friend to walk the dog or take the kids to the park when a new baby comes home from the hospital. Family and friends don't always know what you need but they usually desire to help.

In the heat of the moment our needs and the needs of others aren't always clear, but if we hold the intention of desiring for everyone's needs to be met with harm to none, ideas of how that can be accomplished will come flooding in. Serenity above will mirror serenity below in a whole new way if we are open to it and tender with our process.

Serenity is a great intention to start the day with. Why not?

Friends in this Love,
Dr. Trish
